DUCATI 1198 S 1198 (2009 - Present) Description & History: The "S" version of the Eleven-nine-eight adds top level suspension, lightweight chassis components and Ducati's impressive DTC traction control system. The areas where a motorcycle manufacturer can reduce the weight of the bike are the wheels, brakes and tires. These parts are regarded as "unsprung weight". The Ducati 1198 S received a high-performance Ohlins suspension and super lightweight wheels, which have a lower "moment of inertia". This is important for turning the bike more easily and quickly and the difference can be felt from the first ride.
