The areas where a motorcycle manufacturer can reduce the weight of the bike are the wheels, brakes and tires. These parts are regarded as "unsprung weight". The Ducati 1198 S received a high-performance Ohlins suspension and super lightweight wheels, which have a lower "moment of inertia".
