Bodywork has been updated and the quad-style mufflers receive a more cyber-style design. The instument cluster has been reshaped, now sporting an analog tachometer and a multi-function digital LCD screen.
The engine of the 2006 Z1000 now sits in a cast aluminium sub-frame and has been relocated and tuned for low-mid rpm performance, suitable for powerful launches at lights and around slow corners, but still effortlessly darting forward at highway speed.
