BMW S 1000 RR 1000 (2009 - Present) Description & History: The motorcycle division from BMW, named BMW Motorrad introduced their new sports bike on May 9, at the Monza Racing Circuit. The S1000RR is BMW's answer to the Superbike World Championship. The sports bike was developed solely for making an efficient entry in the 2009 SBK and thus will be made in only 1,000 units, in order to meet the competition's rules. The bike has a wet weight of 204 kg (449.7 lbs) and develops 193 hp. The BMW S1000RR will also have as optional ABS and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control).
