DUCATI 749 748 (2003 - 2008) Description & History: Also called the "Seven-four-nine" this sports bike was the successor of the 748 model. It was the level entry supersports class motorcycle from the Italian manufacturer at the time and came in several trim levels with different paint schemes and settings, called the 749, 749 S, 749 R and 749 Dark. The latter was released in 2005 and was the most affordable of the range, boasting a minimalist approach in terms of mechanics, lacking the steering damper and the rear suspension link with fixed length. The Ducati 749 had a 748cc engine that shared many components with the 999 model, but revved higher. It produced 108 hp at 10000 rpm and complied with Euro 2 emissions regulations. In 2008 it was replaced by the Ducati 848.
